Morning, Evening in the day

 

Please do note that these prayers vary through the different church seasons. Please scroll down the list and click on the hyper link for the form of prayer you need.  In Ordinary Time there are different forms of daily prayer, in the other seasons there is only one prayer.

Preparation

1. Ideally you should have a bible to read the allocated Psalm, Gospel or New Testament text.
2. If you can, a candle to mark start and end of prayer.

Readings

For the readings, we use the Revised Common Lectionary used by the CofE.  Click on the link and scroll down to today’s date. Keep this open as a separate tab to come back to, click here.

For Morning Prayer – choose the first named Psalm for morning prayer, and choose the Gospel text from the Holy Eucharist text.
For Evening Prayer – choose the first named Psalm for evening prayer, and choose the first named New Testament reading of Evening Prayer.
