CREATIVE FORMS OF WORSHIP IN MOOT
A
number of people in and around London had looked to establishing a fresh approach to being church
in the centre of the city as a space for exploring ways to be with God.
Following these dreams and experiences, services commenced in January
2003 drawing on people who have been involved in alternative and creative
worship. In the autumn 2005, we expanded activities to hold services every week. There incude:
a little reflective service
- a short reflective & contemplative service led by a member of the community (usually 1xsun a month at 6.30pm)
a big alternative worship service
- an alternative worship service on a theme led by several members of the community (usually 1xsun a month at 6.30pm)
a creative eucharist/communion service
- an alternative and participatory service of bread and wine (usually 1xsun a month at 6.30pm)
a scream service
- an alternative worship service that allows children and adults to encounter God together (usually 1xsun a month at 3.30pm)
a creative compline service
- a short night prayer for people who are out of town and can't attend Godly Play (usually 1xsun a month at 6.30pm)
Moot now runs a mixture of worship on Sundays, discussions & other spiritual explorations on Wednesdays and mission activities at oher times.
The Moot community meet normally on the last Sunday of every month to plan what is happening and to develop the community.
