Day-dreaming

I wish i would give myself more time to daydream. I often have some of my best thoughts when i give myself time to do this. I think there is a strong correlation between daydreaming and creativity. I often find meditating difficult for periods longer than ten minutes. When i say difficult, what i usually do is begin to daydream, or process, past and potential circumstances, ideas, thoughts feelings etc. Nice to see you at the weekend Jonny. Hope you had a nice time in Bristol.X

Don't know quite how this relates to your question, but I have never daydreamed as much as I did when I was pregnant for the first time – and I think it was a necessary part of preparing for the changes to come. But I also think you can waste a lot of time daydreamig about stuff that you don't have any intention or means of trying to make happen

Hi Jonny,I find day-dreaming crucial to my sense of where I am and where I am going. At the same time, I think bringing discipline to it is important.Meditation is one of ways to do it withing a given frame, but I find that writing down my thoughts, either in my journal or even in this blog, helps me shape them into something more cohesive. Better still, it allows me to be critical and question some of the thoughts once I've written them.Self-discipline is key – not so much by repressing day dreaming but by giving it a shape and a purpose.
